distrib-info - A distribution independant utility to retrieve package information.
SYNTAX
distrib-info vserver-name command [options]
DESCRIPTION
distrib-info - This utility provides a solution to hide some differences between Linux distributions. The various utilities (vunify, vbuild, ...) need package information to perform their task. They call distrib-info to retrieve this information. distrib-info is the only one understanding the various distribution out there.
- This utility is only used as a back-end for other utilities such as
- vunify and vbuild.
OPTIONS
- dumpfiles reports all files owned by a package.
- pkgversion reports all packages and version.
- unifiles reports the files of a package which may be shared by
- several virtual servers. Generally, this excludes all configuration files.
EXAMPLES
The following command will report all packages in the vserver ref80. The package will be presented with the version/release.
distrib-info ref80 pkgversion
To get the list of unify-able (sharable) file in package sendmail of the vserver ref80, we do
distrib-info ref80 unifiles sendmail
