DESCRIPTION

Pan is the GTK-based newsreader, which supports multiple servers, threading, filtering, multiple identities and multi-part binaries.

OPTIONS

Gnome options:

--version
Prints Pan's version number
--help
Prints this message and exits
--debug
Turns on the most commonly-useful options for a bug report

GNOME GUI options:

--disable-crash-dialog

Pan options:

--mute
Debugging tool to send new posts to console, not the server
--debug-cache
Print debugging messages for the article cache
--debug-sockets
Print debugging messages when talking to the news server
--debug-queue
Print debugging messages related to managing tasks
--debug-decode
Print debugging messages related to decoding attachments
--debug-newsrc
Print debugging messages related to .newsrc files
--debug-gnksa
Print debugging messages related to gnksa correctness
--debug-trace
Print debugging messages when entering/leaving functions
--debug-lock
Print debugging messages related to threaded gui locks
--debug-object
Print debugging messages related to refcounted objects

USAGE

Using pan is pretty straightforward, since a great deal of work has gone into its GUI-design. Usually, you do not want to provide any command line options whatsoever. Simply execute pan from your shell, complete the setup-wizard, and you are ready to go.

If you make mistakes, you can redo any part of the configuration by going to Edit->Preferences
