man perspic (Commandes) - test indexing and word search program
NAME
perspic - test indexing and word search program
SYNOPSIS
perspic
DESCRIPTION
perspic should be fairly self explanatory. If one selects a directory in the Open submenu, perspic will index all files with the .txt suffix, and create the resulting index in the user's home directory. All indexed files currently must contain only standard ASCII text characters, e.g. letters, digits, and punctuation. A word, in lower case, can then be entered in the box provided, and perspic will fill in a tree of matches, providing a one line summary for each. Selecting one of these lines opens the full text at that point in the lower window.
