man ubuntustudio (Commandes) - Music applications launcher

NAME

ubuntustudio - Music applications launcher

SYNOPSIS

ubuntustudio [--all]

DESCRIPTION

The ubuntustudio script gives you easy access to launch whichever set of applications you use on a regular basis with fewer clicks. It also memorizes the applications that you ran last, so that if you are used to a certain set of applications, you can just click the OK button and have everything come up nicely.

This was written for Ubuntu Linux, as part of the The Ubuntu Studio Project. It will detect any music studio applications you have installed on your system, as long as they include proper .desktop files. If you notice a program you have installed is missing from the list, please submit a bug report to <launcher@ubuntustudio.com>.

Please note that there is a blacklist of applications, which is user-configurable (see FILES section below). The purpose of this is to allow you to easily customize which applications you may have installed but do not wish to see in the Launcher. There is a sane set of defaults generated upon first run.

OPTIONS

--all
Lists all applications in the Audio section, effectively ignoring the blacklisted applications.

FILES

UbuntuStudio stores it's configuration file to $HOME/.ubuntustudio2config. This file has several user-configurable parameters.

BlackList is a list of binary names, path excluded, which are excluded from the Launcher list. A sane list of non-production applications are default.

Width and Height parameters set the size of the Launcher window. Defaults to 650 for both.

JACKDelay sets the number of seconds to wait after launching QjackCtl before launching the other applications you chose. If after this number of seconds, JACK is still not detected, the Launcher script will wait the same number of seconds and try again. If JACK is not detected, the Launcher will exit out with a message. Defaults to 5.

AppDelay sets the number of seconds to wait inbetween launching each remaining application. You may want to increase this so each application launch gets more of your CPU time, or set it to 0 to launch all applications at once. Defaults to 3.

SUGGESTIONS AND BUG REPORTS
